Editorial standards

Last updated October 26, 2026

ExplorXR is an independent publication about extended reality and real-time computer graphics. This page explains how the work is made, so you can judge it on its merits. It applies to every post on the site, whatever its section.

What we publish

  • Deep dives: original analysis that connects several developments into one argument, with the technical detail behind the claims.
  • Guides: evergreen explainers on fundamentals, revised as the technology changes. The last-revised date is shown on the page.
  • Briefings: short reports on news that matters. These summarise reporting published elsewhere, credit it, and link to the original at the point of use.

Sourcing and attribution

Every factual claim in a briefing traces to a linked primary or secondary source: a company announcement, a filing, a published review, or a named outlet's reporting. Quotes are attributed to whoever said them. We do not present another outlet's reporting as our own, and we do not rewrite a single source into a longer article.

Briefings exist to point readers at the original work rather than to replace it. If you publish something we covered and believe the summary misrepresents it, tell us and we will fix it or remove the summary.

Verification

Specifications, prices and dates are checked against a primary source wherever one exists. When a claim rests on a single unconfirmed report, the text says so. Numbers are quoted with the unit and the source's own measurement method, because XR hardware claims in particular fall apart when the test conditions are not stated.

Corrections

Mistakes get corrected in place, with a dated note at the foot of the article describing what changed. Substantive corrections are never made silently. To request one, email hello@explorxr.com with the URL and the specific claim.

AI assistance

Drafting and research tooling, including language models, is used to help gather sources and tighten prose. Every published claim is checked against its source by a human before it goes live, and the byline is the person accountable for the text. Content is not generated and published unreviewed.

Ownership and funding

ExplorXR is independently owned and self-funded. It carries no sponsored posts and no paid placements. Advertising, when present, is served programmatically and is not sold directly; advertisers have no input into coverage.

Who is responsible

The site publishes under the ExplorXR Editorial byline, which stands for the desk that reports, writes and edits it. The about page explains why the byline is not a personal one, and contact has the address for tips, corrections and rights requests.
